Welcome to the Uniting Church in Australia’s 11th Triennial Assembly website

The Triennial Assembly is a meeting of about 250 members of the Uniting Church elected from across the length and breadth of the country by Synods (state bodies) and Presbyteries (regional bodies). This group forms the decision making body of the Assembly and meets every three years, for one week, in a different state each time. The discussion revolves around social and policy issues relating to the Church. The outcome is a series of decisions affecting the corporate life of the church over the following three years. On this site, you will find news and updates about the discussions and decisions of the Assembly.

The Uniting Church in Australia was born in 1977, the result of the union of three protestant denominations – Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian. People from these three Christian traditions were captured by the vision of a new and uniquely

Australian Christian community, one that could better witness to Jesus by being together rather than separate.  It is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia.
